Understanding Rim Bolt Patterns: 5x114.3 and Beyond

The 5x114.3mm bolt pattern is the most important spec when buying rims.

Every wheel rim bolts to the wheel hub through a specific bolt pattern expressed as bolt count and circle diameter in millimeters. The 5x114.3 pattern (five bolts on a 114.3mm circle) is the most common worldwide, fitting Honda, Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Mazda, Mercedes, BMW, Dell, and Yaris wheels. Other common patterns include 5x100mm, 5x112mm, 6x139mm, and 4x100mm. Both numbers must match your wheel hub exactly for the rim to fit.
