Return Policy & Payments

RimRevival favors the buyer. This policy explains your return rights, the documented proof required, and how payments are held safely through Stripe Protection — our escrow-compatible checkout that supports cards, wallets, installment plans, and delayed payments.

Return window

Buyers may request a return within 7 calendar days of confirmed delivery. A return request must be submitted through RimRevival with the reason and supporting documentation (see below).

Valid return reasons

A return is granted when one of the following undisclosed issue is demonstrated with documented proof. Items sold with disclosed defects are final — see below.

  • Item not as described (wrong size, bolt pattern, offset, or material vs. the listing).
  • Undisclosed damage (bends, cracks, welds, or curb rash not shown or mentioned).
  • Item significantly damaged in transit.
  • Wrong quantity received (e.g. set advertised as 4, fewer received).
  • Non-genuine item sold as a named brand.

Documented proof required

To protect buyers and resolve disputes fairly, the buyer must provide clear documented proof:

  • Unboxing video — a continuous video from sealed package to contents, showing the condition upon arrival.
  • Photos — all sides of each rim, close-ups of any damage or mismatch, and a photo of the bolt pattern / markings.
  • Measurement photos — a tape measure showing diameter/width if "not as described" is the claim.
  • Shipping label & tracking — proof of delivery date and the package as received.

Claims submitted without the required proof may be denied. Sellers must also retain their shipping proof and pre-shipment photos.

See our Photo & Video Requirements Guide for detailed standards for both buyers and sellers.

How disputes are resolved

When valid proof is provided, RimRevival resolves disputes in favor of the buyer:

  • Not-as-described or undisclosed damage → full refund of the item price; seller pays return shipping.
  • Transit damage → refund issued; buyer files the carrier claim (seller assists) and the seller's payment is reversed. Seller pays return shipping.
  • Wrong quantity or non-genuine item → full refund; seller pays return shipping.
  • Buyer's remorse or change of mind (item as described) → not accepted. Returns require good cause as defined above.

Return shipping rule: For all valid claims, the seller pays return shipping. Buyers should never be out-of-pocket for returning a defective or misrepresented item. If the buyer purchased RimRevival Protection and the claim is for the item not matching its description or a defect the seller failed to disclose, RimRevival provides a prepaid return label at no cost to either party. For other valid-claim categories (transit damage, wrong quantity, non-genuine item), the seller remains responsible for arranging and covering return shipping directly.

Dispute resolution timeline: RimRevival reviews filed disputes within 7 business days (3 business days for orders with RimRevival Protection). Both parties are contacted for evidence before a decision is made.

RimRevival Protection (optional add-on)

At checkout, buyers can add RimRevival Protection for a flat $9.99 fee. This in-house protection plan — not a third-party product — provides:

  • Extended 14-day inspection window — instead of the standard 3 days, you have 14 days from delivery to inspect and file a dispute.
  • Priority dispute resolution — your dispute is reviewed within 3 business days instead of the standard 7.
  • Prepaid return label — for not-as-described or undisclosed-defect claims, RimRevival provides a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you once your claim is approved. For other valid-claim types (transit damage, wrong quantity, non-genuine item), the seller still covers return shipping, but you may need to arrange the label yourself.

Protection is optional and can be toggled at checkout. It does not replace the standard buyer safeguards — all orders are escrow-protected regardless.

Non-returnable cases

Returns are not accepted for:

  • Items modified, mounted, or installed after delivery.
  • Requests made after the 7-day window.
  • Claims without the documented proof listed above.
  • Buyer's remorse or change of mind without good cause — returns are not accepted. Good cause means an undisclosed defect, item not as described, transit damage, wrong quantity, or a non-genuine item.
  • Disclosed defects — any issue the seller disclosed (and you acknowledged at checkout) is a final sale.
  • Minor / superficial cosmetic wear — small scratches, light curb rash, tiny chips, or finish variation that does not affect structural integrity and is not clearly visible from 3 feet away cannot be claimed.

Payments — Stripe Protection (escrow-compatible)

All transactions are processed through Stripe Protection, our escrow-compatible checkout with built-in buyer safeguards. Stripe supports every major payment avenue, so you can pay your way:

  • Cards — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover.
  • Wallets — Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link instant checkout.
  • Installments (Pay in 4) — split your purchase into 4 interest-free payments over ~6 weeks via Afterpay/Clearpay.
  • Delayed payments — pay later with Klarna, or spread the cost over up to 4 monthly payments through Stripe's BNPL partners (where available).
  • Bank transfer (ACH) — pay directly from your bank account with lower fees.

Funds are captured by Stripe and held in escrow. The shipping portion is released to the seller right away so they can ship your order; the item-price portion is released only after the buyer confirms delivery and a 3-day inspection window passes. Buyers pay only the listed item price plus any optional transaction protection — no hidden charges on your end.

If something goes wrong, you can open a dispute through RimRevival and, where applicable, through your card issuer or Stripe's dispute process — both favor the buyer when documented proof is provided.

Never pay off-platform or via "friends & family" money transfers — those methods offer no protection and forfeit your return rights. Always check out through RimRevival's Stripe-secured flow.
